Slow roads are paths or roads intended for non-motorized traffic. Walkers, cyclists and riders are the most important users. You can find them everywhere: in the countryside, in a village center or allotment, even in the city. Paved or unpaved, wide or narrow: a slow road can take all forms. Whether a road is slow, therefore, depends solely on the users. Our country is littered with slow roads. Together, all those field roads, towpaths, former train beds, hollow roads, forest paths and throughways form a dense network where gentle road users like to cycle and walk.
